  The Little Parcel

‘The Little Parcel’ is a collaborative novella written by the attendees of the 2016 spring-term ‘Creative Writing – Intermediate’ ten-week class hosted by co-contributor Morgen Bailey.

The authors wrote their chapters while knowing only the size (14” x 12” x 8”), weight (304gms) and destination address of the parcel (Dad, 1 The Hill, Thornton, Nottingham), together with the chapters’ starting and ending locations, the latter of which were chosen by the author of the relevant chapter. They also chose their own characters – the lead of which entitle each chapter – and plot.

Morgen then collated the stories and made minor edits to turn each chapter into a cohesive novella before designing the cover and upload the finished package between weeks the final two weeks of the course so all the contributing attendees left the course as published authors! As you will see, Morgen has written more than the first and final paragraphs as – due to unforeseen circumstances – some of the authors were unable to write their chapters so she created them.

We all hope that you enjoy reading this novella and that it feels seamless to you.

We would love to know what you think and invite you to email Morgen at [email protected] who will pass your comments on to the relevant authors. We would also be very grateful if you left a review as an encouragement for others to read the novella.

You can learn more about this project on www.morgenbailey.wordpress.com/the-parcel-project where you can leave comments and read those left by other visitors.
